Tree Maintenance

St. Albert residents take pride in the community's many green spaces and an abundance of trees. The City works to ensure the community's parks and recreational areas are at their finest.

ISA Arborists

The City of St. Albert currently has seven ISA Certified Arborists on staff. This certification was developed to recognize professionals that have demonstrated a thorough knowledge of tree care practices and to provide them with ongoing education and development opportunities to enhance their technical competency. Having these members on staff helps to provide better service to our residents and ensure best practices for the trees and shrubs within our city.

Urban Forest Management Plan

The St. Albert Urban Forest Management Plan (UFMP) aims to protect the urban forest within the community which is essential to providing environmental and ecological benefits to residents. It provides clear direction and a framework for the protection, management and sustainability of the urban forest that connects us to the natural environment that our community values.

The urban forest in St. Albert consists of trees, shrubs and other woody vegetation within City limits, whether planted or naturally occurring within private and public property. This includes parks, ravines, and vegetation along the river valley. Managing these areas effectively will ensure they continue to serve the community for generations to come.
