Emergency First Aid includes CPR level AThe 8-hour Lifesaving Emergency First Aid course is for people who want a general knowledge of first aid principles and the emergency treatment of injuries. Skills include: victim assessment, rescue breathing, CPR, choking, respiratory and circulatory emergencies such as heart attack and stroke, and how to deal with external bleeding. Successful candidates receive both Lifesaving Emergency First Aid and CPR A certifications. LEFA is approved by Alberta Workplace Health and Safety as an Emergency First Aid course. Standard First Aid includes CPR level CThe 16-hour Lifesaving Standard First Aid course provides comprehensive training, covering all aspects of first aid and CPR. This course is for those who want an in-depth understanding of first aid such as: medical/legal aspects, spinal injuries, heat or cold injuries, bone and joint injuries, abdominal and chest injuries, burns, and medical emergencies. Successful candidates receive both Lifesaving Standard First Aid and CPR C certification. LSFA is approved by Alberta Workplace Health and Safety as a Standard First Aid course. CPR level C and AED - Lifesaving AED (Automated External Defibrillator) and CPR (Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation)This 8-hour Lifesaving CPR/AED course builds on the candidate's CPR skills and how to use an automated external defibrillator (AED) used to treat a person who is in sudden cardiac arrest. Recognize circulatory emergencies in adults, children & infants. Perform single-rescuer and two-rescuer CPR for adults, children & infants Clear objects causing choking in adults, children & infant. NOTE: Stays current for 2 years from the date of the exam. Health Care Provider CPRThe CPR HCP course teaches Health Care Providers such as paramedics, nurses and physicians how to recognize circulatory emergencies, perform one-rescuer and two-rescuer CPR and choking procedures for adults, children and infants; and the use of AEDs and BVMs. All Re-certifications available.
