BOAT LicensingAs of September 2009, anyone operating a motorized water craft is required to have a Pleasure Craft Operator (PCO) card. Getting your Pleasure Craft Operator card involves writing a multiple-choice exam.
Please call Fountain Park Recreation Centre at 780-459-1553 to schedule a PCO exam. BOAT Study Guides are available for purchase at the front desk to help you prepare for your exam. Junior Lifeguard Club - 8-15 YrsAre you ready for another challenge and some serious fun? Want to be on a high energy team? In your Junior Lifeguard Club you'll get to learn to be a lifesaver, stay fit and have a lot of fun doing it. You set your own goals to earn seals that go into your Waterlog. Through your Junior Lifeguard Club you can help out in the community by teaching others how to be Water Smart. If you want, you can travel with your team to competitive lifesaving events and set your personal best times!Babysitter Course - 11+YrsLearn how to become the best babysitter you can be. Participants learn how to care for babies to school age children in a safe and positive environment, prevent injuries, handle emergencies and respond with first aid, and to provide age appropriate activities and games. In addition, they will learn communication skills and the basic business skills to be a successful babysitter.Private LessonsPrivate lessons area great way to develop specific swimming skills through personalized coaching. If your child is almost finished a level and just needs to complete a couple of items, a 1/2 hour private lesson could be right for you! Please call 780-459-1553 for dates and times.Special Needs - Any AgeIndividualized lessons for those with physical or mental challenges. Special Needs lessons are a one on one set of lessons with a Lifesaving Swimming Instructor. The Lifesaving Swimming Instructor works with both the child and parent/guardian. |
