Pump Station Upgrade - Construction Update

The Pump Station, located on the corner of Sturgeon Road and Sir Winston Churchill Avenue, is being upgraded with the construction of a new pump station and the decommissioning of one of the existing stations. This upgrade will address current deficiencies and will provide capacity for future growth. Service will not be disrupted by the upgrades.

 Construction Update - October - December 2011

The external underground structure of the pump station was completed in June. Work has moved on to
the construction of the internal wall and floors. It is anticipated that the underground structure will be
complete by early December at which time work will commence on the above ground structure.
The October to December period will also include construction of the new sewers and forcemains that will
be used to deliver wastewater to and from the new pump station.

Construction of a new underground structure, that will house much of the future wastewater pumping infrastructure, also began during this period. This structure will be constructed in stages and the photographs below show preparations for the construction of the first stage

Projected Construction Activity January to March 2011

This period will see the continuation of the construction of the underground pump station structure. Completion of this structure is expected to be completed in April 2011.
