St. Albert, Alberta's Botanical Arts City, is known for its small-community feel and friendly character which have been preserved while the city has grown to be Alberta's sixth largest. Residents and visitors take pride in the city's many trails and spacious parks; areas that provide first-rate recreational opportunities. We are known for our passion for sports, our rich history, a wide array of arts, our botanical arts nature and a vibrant culture.
While St. Albert maintains a high quality of life that residents have come to enjoy for 152 years, City Council and staff work to ensure growth is managed effectively. Developing lands, new roadways and a wealth of long-term planning initiatives are all signs of efforts that continue building a dynamic and diverse community.
For 2013 - 2015, City Council has established several priorities, which reflect the community's needs in several areas. Setting the stage for St. Albert's future, these priorities range from ensuring financial sustainability, to increasing non-residential assessment, to establishing environmental protection efforts. Social and community development such as youth development and neighbourhood initiatives form the foundation of this.
Council is committed to building our community to meet the needs of residents and businesses, further strengthening St. Albert. We invite you to learn more about Council's vision and priorities for our community as outlined in City Council's Priorities.
