Support during Poor Air Quality
Poor air quality can affect anyone; however, some people may be more susceptible to air pollution (wildfire smoke) than others, including the very young or old, those with existing illnesses or others. If you know someone who may easily be affected, check in on friends, neighbours and family members.
The City of St. Albert activates its Vulnerable Population Weather Response when air quality in St. Albert reaches 7 or higher on the Air Quality Health Index for two or more consecutive days. This helps ensure vulnerable members of our community, including those who are vulnerably unhoused, can receive respite from the smoke.
