Clean and Green RiverFest
Clean and Green RiverFest is an annual event intended to increase wildlife habitat along the Sturgeon River by collecting litter before it enters the river and planting native tree and shrub species. It's an opportunity for individuals, groups and families to learn how you can impact the environment in a positive way.
Come and be a part of this year's event being held on Saturday, May 11 from 11am-2pm. Meet us on the Red Willow Park trail behind St. Albert Centre mall and join other residents in cleaning up a section of the Sturgeon River valley, planting a native tree or shrub along the riverbank, enjoying a free hot dog BBQ, music, air-brush tattoos, and checking out interactive displays including the following groups:
|Alberta Conservation Association||Alberta Native Bee Council||Big Lake Environment Support Society|
|City of St. Albert - Emergency Services||City of St. Albert - Public Works, Utilities & Environment||City of St. Albert - Recreation & Parks|
|North Saskatchewan Watershed Alliance||Riverlot 56 Society||St. Albert Canoe & Kayak Club|
|St. Albert Tool Library Society||St. Albert Urban Agriculture - Community Food Forest||Trout Unlimited - Yellow Fish Road|
|Venture Into Nature||WildNorth|
RiverFest is part of the City's Spruce Up St. Albert presented by TD initiative which helps to clean up and beautify our city.
