Weed Warriors
Weed Warriors is an outdoor, hands-on, educational workshop that strives to enhance the environment by removing invasive plants. As part of the Spruce Up St. Albert program, Weed Warriors teaches students and community members of all ages how to identify invasive weeds, safe removal processes and supports the growth of native plant species.
Invasive plants often compete with native plants, affecting biodiversity in natural areas. This negatively impacts many living organisms that rely on native plants for food or as homes in our ecosystems. The City of St. Albert is committed to protecting and re-storing biodiversity in our community’s natural areas.
