Water Quality Monitoring
Monitoring Water Quality in St. Albert
The City of St. Albert tests the water quality of the Sturgeon River, its stormwater outfalls and stormwater ponds quarterly. Unlike the sanitary sewer system, water entering the storm sewers is not treated and drains directly into the Sturgeon River or storm water ponds. Contaminated water can kill fish and other wildlife, as well as pollute areas next to these bodies of water.
For more information on the monitoring of our river and stormwater areas, please contact the Environment department at 780-459-1746.
