City Facilities

The City continues to review and update information in alignment with the Government of Alberta’s The Path Forward.

Now Open

As part of The Path Forwardthe Government of Alberta has developed a stepped approach to easing restrictions for businesses and individuals, while at the same time protecting the health-care system. 

Note: On April 6, 2021, the Government of Alberta moved back to Step 1.  

City Facilities - Open (with restrictions)

Compost Depot

  • The Compost Depot will open as of Wednesday, April 14 at 10 a.m.

Fountain Park Recreation Centre

The City is using a phased approach to reopen some indoor recreation activities at Fountain Park Recreation Centre, in alignment with the Government of Alberta’s The Path Forward.

Available 

  • Spring one-on-one and one-on-one household swimming lessons. Can be registered at activity.stalbert.ca. 
  • Swim club bookings at Fountain Park Recreation Centre can be booked through fprc@stalbert.ca

As per the provincial guidelines, all activities allowed under the Government of Alberta’s The Path Forward must be reserved ahead of time and are by appointment only. No walk-ins are allowed. For details, see Welcome Back

When participating in indoor activities, remember to follow all Provincial Health Measures in place.

Jarome Iginla and Kinex Arenas

  • Jarome Iginla and Kinex Arenas opened on February 16 for booked use only to community sport partners and for curriculum-related activities for school.
  • As per the provincial guidelines, indoor recreation facilities will remain closed to the general public. Spectators will not be allowed. For details, see Welcome Back.

Maloney Place (RCMP/Municipal Enforcement Services)

Restrictions on entering the RCMP detachment and Municipal Enforcement Services area remain in place.

  • Appointments will be accepted for regular Criminal Record Check and Fingerprint services.
  • Motor Vehicle Collision reports will continue to be handled through phone and email. 
  • Where possible other service requests will continue to be by appointment, by phone, or email.
  • Based on Alberta Health guidelines, to ensure the safety and well-being of our residents and staff, one person will be allowed to enter at a time by appointment only.

Mike Mitchell Recycling Depot

  • The Mike Mitchell Recycling Depot is open to St. Albert residents. City staff are not permitted to help residents unload or handle any materials brought to the depot.

RV/Trailer Dump Sites

  • Water services to the City operated trailer dump sites are open for the season starting in May and close in October after Thanksgiving. This is dependent on weather and temperature. You may still dump at these stations before and after this time frame but there will be no water.

Servus Credit Union Place

The City is using a phased approach to reopen some indoor recreation activities at Servus Credit Union Place, in alignment with the Government of Alberta’s The Path Forward.

Available  

  • Personal fitness with trainer (one-on-one or one-on-one household training) at Servus Credit Union Place - bookings by phone only.  
  • Field houses and gymnasiums bookings at Servus Place are limited to youth sport partners and schools.
