For the safety and protection of our community, on August 4, 2020, St. Albert City Council passed the Face Coverings Bylaw, which requires face coverings to be worn in all indoor public places within St. Albert including City facilities, retail locations, on St. Albert transit as well as vehicles for hire. Now Open

As part of the Alberta Relaunch Strategy, the Government of Alberta further reopened businesses with continued protections in place. Preparations are now complete to resume operations at the following:

City Facilities

Most front counter services are now open.

Beaudry Place

Beaudry Place is now open

Modifications have been made to the building based on provincial guidelines to ensure the safety and well-being of our residents, staff and visitors.

  • Modifications includes a hand sanitizer station, directional decals, increased signage, limited seating and a protective plexiglass guard at the front counter.

Clients will continue to receive counselling services over the phone and as video call sessions. In-person counselling will be on a case-by-case basis.

NOTE: The Food Bank has been open during COVID-19.

Fire Hall No. 3

Fire Hall No. 3 will continue to offer services to the public over the phone and online, and for equipment and supply drop-off.

To protect emergency services personnel, members of the public looking to enter the Fire Hall will require personal protective equipment, including masks, gloves and booties or a change of footwear.

All fire permit requests must be completed online at stalbert.ca/city/approvals/fires

Please note, all other St. Albert Fire Halls remain closed to the public.

Fountain Park Recreation Centre

The doors to Fountain Park Recreation Centre are now open to the public with reduced hours and a phased in opening of the various amenities.

Jack Kraft Facility

Jack Kraft is now open to the public.

Front counter services will be open for public needs such as contractor services and Access to City Property permits.

Modifications have been made to the building based on Government of Alberta guidelines to ensure the safety and well-being of our residents, staff and visitors.

  • Modifications include only two persons allowed inside at one time, hand sanitizer available, increased signage and a protective plexiglass guard.

Liggett Place

Liggett Placeis now open to the public for Transit and Cemetery Services.

Modifications have been made to the building based on Government of Alberta guidelines to ensure the safety and well-being of our residents, staff and visitors.

  • Modifications include a hand sanitizer station, directional decals, increased signage and limited seating in addition to the already existent protective plexiglass guard.

Cemetery Services are available preferably by appointment at 780-459-1500.

Transit Services at Liggett Place will resume with regular services offerings, including transit pass and ticket purchases, and transit related lost and found needs.

  • Transit purchases can also be made at St. Albert Place front counter services.
  • All Aboard pass holders can also purchase new transit passes at St. Albert Place’s Community Services front counter services.

Maloney Place (RCMP/Municipal Enforcement Services)

Restrictions on entering the RCMP detachment and Municipal Enforcement Services area remain in place.

  • Appointments will be accepted for regular Criminal Record Check and Fingerprint services.
  • Motor Vehicle Collision reports will continue to be handled through phone and email. 
  • Where possible other service requests will continue to be encouraged and handle by way of phone and email.

  • One person will be allowed to enter at a time by appointment only.
  • Modifications include hand sanitizer made available and increased signage.

St. Albert Place

St. Albert Place is now open to the public.

Some services available in person at St. Albert Place continue to be available online at Online Services.

  • Utilities and Dog Licence payments can all be made using MyCity. If you need instructions on how to register, call the main switchboard at 780-459-1500.
  • Taxes can be paid through the Pre-Authorized Payment Plan, your financial institution, dropbox (right-hand side of St. Albert Place front doors), or by mail.
  • To apply for a business license, download an application form available at Business Licensing and submit the application to licensing@stalbert.ca
  • All business renewals can be completed online through MyCity.
  • Planning & Development has updated its online service to encourage electronic application submittals and discourage paper submittals. Please use the following links to submit the appropriate applications.

Open front counter service will include access to Community Services, Taxation and Utilities, Engineering Services, Planning & Development, Legal & Legislative Services, and the offices of the Mayor and Chief Administrative Officer.

  • Regular front counter services hours will resume. 
    • Monday to Friday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., closed on holidays.
  • Business Licensing has moved online. To apply for a licence or renew your licence, see our Business Licensing page.

Servus Credit Union Place – select areas

The doors to Servus Place are now open to the public with normal hours. Limited capacity and physical distancing restrictions apply to align with provincial guidelines. Learn more about the changes to Servus Place.

As facilities begin to open for the public in accordance with the Alberta Relaunch Strategy, the City will follow all provincial guidelines to ensure the safety of our residents, patrons and staff.

Community Clubhouses – booked use only

  • Open as of September 1, 2020

The Arden Theatre - modified opening

  • Anticipated to start as early as October 1, 2020
  • Reopen for performances, including family programming, both live and online​​​​​
  • Arden Theatre rental events are also anticipated to begin as early as October 15. Further information on how to rent the Arden Theatre and what to expect will be made available this fall.
