A Focus on the Community
The RCMP Detachment is very active in the Community. Our Community initiatives include School Resource Officers, Bike/Cart Patrol (in the summer months), Victim Services, Crime Reduction, Crime Prevention, Drug Awareness, Asset Development, Citizens on Patrol, Crime Stoppers, Neighbourhood Watch and Youth Programming/Presentations. The RCMP’s proactive community initiatives encourage opportunity to connect and engage with the public and facilitate conversation with all demographics of our population.
To address the root causes of Property Crime, the RCMP has increased education in the Community to promote accountable practices to secure and safeguard property. Efforts include, Block Party attendance, Crime Prevention through Environmental Design (CPTED), Lock it or Lose it, 9PM Routine, and Surveillance Camera Registry Projects.Topics in this section
