FCSS Funded Community Programs
The FCSS Program, part of St. Albert’s Community Services Department, is a partnership between municipalities/Métis Settlements and the Province of Alberta in the delivery of preventive social service programs. Municipalities receive funding from the Province through the Ministry of Human Resources; these funds help to deliver programs at the community level through locally determined methods.
The following programs are being funded in St. Albert:
Seniors Supports and Services
Assistance and support for individuals 50+ to identify and access available community resources. Information, assistance and referrals for financial and housing options, completion of forms, advance care planning, elder abuse information and support, social and recreation opportunities and accessing persoanl care, respite and community services.

Youth Counselling Program for youth 13-17 dealing with abuse issues
A range of counselling, education and advocacy for those impacted by family abuse and violence.
Provided by St. Albert Stop Abuse in Families Society
Family Life Education Program
Provides parenting courses and drop-in programs, outreach services, parent coaching, referrals, activities and events for families and opportunities for mentoring and intergenerational programming.
Provided by St. Albert Family Resource Centre
Community Liaison Program
Coordinates client access to the appropriate community-based social agencies and provides assistance to individuals in social crisis (housing and food insecurities, abuse, unemployment).
Provided by St. Albert Food Bank & Community Village
Newcomer Program
Offers newcomers a central hub to visit, email or call to receive information on programs, schools, banking and other services. They will provide much needed translation services for those with limited english language skills.

Child and Youth Mentoring
Provide mentoring and after school programs to support vulnerable children and youth who would benefit from a positive adult mentor in their lives.

Bereavement Support
Provides support through compassion, understanding, education and friendship to those who have lost a loved-one through death.
Provided by St. Albert Bereavement Fellowship
Monthly Events and Online Hub
Provides opportunities to help combat isolation and encourage social interaction through hobbies and other activities in St. Albert.

Education Sessions for Persons Living with Developmental Disabilities
Provides specialized learning sessionf for persons living with developmental disabilities.
