Soulfire
Soulfire explores mental health in a fun and engaging way for youth. These monthly workshops focus on building deeper connections through diverse activities, including creating custom affirmation cards, exploring yoga or learning mindfulness while soapstone carving.
The Soulfire program is facilitator-led and brings in experts from the community to provide educational workshops that are accessible and enjoyable, encouraging participants to explore their wellbeing in a supportive community setting.
Tap into ways you can find deeper connections, learn about your own mental health, and have fun doing it!
Join us on the third Wednesday and Thursday of each month; Wednesdays are for students in grades 4 to 6 and Thursdays are for grades 7 to 12.

February
Friendships: Trust and Respect (with Stephanie Gugula and an ageism activity with Tricia)
Celebrate the importance of trust and respect in our relationships! This session is all about building stronger connections through fun and interactive games designed to help you understand how to be a good friend.
March
Painting rocks and bracelets
Participants paint rocks to explore the concept of reciprocity, learning how rocks and water influence each other. They also can create a bracelet or rock for someone in their life. This act of giving back fosters a sense of gratitude and strengthens relationships promoting mental well-being.
April
Make your own journals (with guided journalling)
Participants create personalized journals for you to take home. Use journalling to reduce stress and improve your well-being. This session will explore how to “name it to tame it,” it’s important not to bury your feelings but to use some tools to process them in healthy ways.
May
Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women (with Amy Watson)
Participants will reference an important book with our facilitator and discuss what makes us feel unseen/different. We'll uncover how discrimination and racism affect our mental health
June
Soapstone making and mindfulness
Participants will create their own soapstone animal. They will be amazed to see an animal take shape, but also feel mindful, present and happy as they do it. Focusing on what is here and now in the moment can make us feel awesome.Related Pages
