Apply for a subsidy
Free or lower-cost transit and recreation options are available for eligible residents. Check the criteria and apply.
Transit
- Free local fares for travel within St. Albert.
- Free local tickets for approved Handibus riders for travel within St. Albert.
- 65% off monthly adult commuter fares for travel between St. Albert and Edmonton.
Recreation
- Free six-month membership or 60% off an annual membership.
- AISH and ADAP recipients are eligible for a free annual membership.
These memberships are available for all City-run recreation facilities including Servis Credit Union Place, Fountain Park Recreation Centre and Grosvner Outdoor Pool.
Children's programs
- Up to $150 per child for City-run children's programs.
Who can apply
- You must be a resident of St. Albert.
- You must not be recieving funding from another source for the same option.
- Your total annual household income (before taxes) must be within the low-income limits set by Statistics Canada.

Other subsidies
Canadian Tire Jumpstart
The City of St. Albert is a community partner with Canadian Tire Jumpstart Charities. If you require funding for a program involving sport or physical activity and your child is between the ages of 4 – 18, you may be eligible for funding from the Canadian Tire Jumpstart Program.
Prescription to Get Active
Servus Credit Union Place is a proud partner of the Prescription to Get Active Program. Qualifying individuals get a free 10-visit punch pass (three-month expiry).
