Consent Video Series
A lot of what we want our young adults to know about keeping themselves and each other safe relates to issues of consent. We want our children to respect other people’s boundaries and we want them to have their boundaries respected in turn. For that to happen, we need young people to understand what consent is, how to assert their boundaries and how to navigate relationships.
Teaching children respect for their own and others' bodies also helps to empower them and reduces their chances of becoming victims. The earlier they can develop the building blocks for this the better.
As a parent or guardian, we might feel confused about when and how to communicate this important topic with the young people in our lives.
Watch the short videos below for helpful information on how to address consent with different aged children.
