St. Albert is a Tree City of the World

For the fifth consecutive year, the City of St. Albert has been recognized as one of 18 Canadian cities and one of 200 cities around the world for demonstrating leadership in maintenance and management of its urban trees. 

Tree Cities of the World, an international programme of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations and Arbor Day Foundation, celebrates cities that are leading the way in urban and community forestry, and acknowledging their efforts in ensuring their urban forests and trees are a vital component of healthy, livable and sustainable communities.

ISA Arborists

The City of St. Albert currently has eight ISA Certified Arborists on staff. This certification professionals that have a thorough knowledge of tree care practices. Ongoing education enhances their technical competency and ensures the City follows best practices for managing our city trees and shrubs.
