Facility Solar Panels
A further commitment to environmental responsibility
In 2017, the City of St. Albert had a high-efficiency solar panel system installed at the Dez Liggett Transit Facility. The module option chosen includes a 301-kilowatt solar panel system that supplies approximately one-third of the building's electricity.
The chosen layout of this high-efficiency system maximizes production and allows St. Albert Transit to move forward with using renewable energy to help offset the electricity use for the electric buses and the facility itself. In 2019, the system produced 280,801.61 kWh, which saved 110,075.20 kg of CO2 gas emissions and is the equivalent of 367.85 trees planted.
