Trip Adjustments or Cancellations
If you need to adjust a trip, please phone the DATS Customer Care Centre by noon the day before your travel date.
Extended hours are available through DATS to cancel a trip. The phone number to cancel a booking is 780-496-4567 (choose Option 1), and the hours are: 5:00 am - 11:00 pm Monday to Friday and 6:00 am - 11:00 pm Saturday/Sunday. Please ensure that you give at least two hours' notice of cancellation before your scheduled trip time. Your cooperation in cancelling a trip prevents unnecessary trips and may allow another patron to use the cancelled trip.
No Shows
A customer is considered a "no-show" when the driver arrives at the scheduled time and location, and no one is there within five minutes, the customer cancels at the door, or the customer cancels less than 2 hours before the trip. Drivers will wait 5 minutes and proceed to the next booking.
Continuous no-shows may lead to a suspension of service.
Thirty Minute Pick Up Window
Upon booking a St. Albert Transit Handibus trip, the customer care agent will give you a scheduled 30-minute pickup window. Please be ready at the start of your pickup period to ensure overall service efficiency. The vehicle will wait a maximum of five minutes upon arrival within your scheduled pickup period.
St. Albert Transit Handibus aims to provide transit service when you need it, but the service should not be treated like a taxi or an ambulance. This is a shared service available for all Handibus patrons. St. Albert Transit reserves the right to amend, update or clarify Handibus service program rules, guidelines or procedures at any time.Related Pages
