Dial-a-Bus

Dial-a-bus is a cost-effective way to provide "as needed" transit service in St. Albert when ridership is low. Dial-a-bus is available upon request to travel to bus stop locations where riders wish to board or be dropped off. Dial-a-bus operates along existing bus routes and "collector" roadways. They provide local service and will always connect to the commuter buses going into Edmonton.

For Passengers Coming from Edmonton

Buses will be at the Village Transit Station waiting to take you to your destination. Board the appropriate bus and tell the driver your intended destination. The driver will take passengers along the most direct route. For your convenience and safety, you are permitted to get off the bus at any location along Transit routes, so long as it is safe for the driver to stop. The bus will not travel on local residential crescents.

For passengers arriving at Village Transit Staion weekday evenings at 7:20, 7:43, 8:43, 9:43 and 10:43 p.m., three Dial-a-buses will be available - East bus, West bus and North bus.  Please use the appropriate bus for your destination.  For passengers arriving at Village Transit Station at 11:43 p.m. or 12:42 a.m., two Dial-a-buses will be available (A15 and A16) to take passengers to any destination in St. Albert (drop off only).

For Passengers within St. Albert

Call your appropriate bus prior to when you need to travel. The driver will advise you of the time he/she will pick you up at your nearest bus stop. Please note that the drivers will only have their phones turned on for a 10-minute window from 35–45 minutes after the hour.

Please Keep in Mind

If you use A14 to travel along its regular route, from Grandin Road, Downtown St. Albert, St. Albert Centre Exchange or places along St. Albert Trail including the Hospital, Save On Foods North and Costco, you do not need to phone the bus. Simply go out at the scheduled time (weeknights only).

If your trip involves local service within St. Albert ONLY, the driver will try to accommodate your request with the most direct route. However, since there may be other passengers trying to connect with commuter routes, it may be necessary to travel first to Village Transit Station before you continue to your local destination.
