Bus Detours / Bus Stop Closures
Route 201 Detour
Please be advised that due to road construction, Route 201 will operate on a detour route starting Tuesday, September 15, 2020 until further notice. Route 201 will be unable to service bus stops on 97 Street and will utilize 100 Street for travel to Jasper Avenue. Please see the detour map to view affected and alternate bus stops.
Route 203 Detour
Please be advised that the Groat bridge will be closed from 6:30 p.m. on Friday, January 22 until 6:00 a.m. on Monday, January 25, 2021. Due to this closure, Route 203 will operate on a detour route and will travel from the Westmount Transit Centre to the Kingsway Transit Centre. Anyone travelling to or from the U of A area will be required to use the LRT to reach Route 201 downtown or Route 203 at the Kingsway Transit Centre. Please see the detour map for more information.
Severe Weather Detours
During instances of severe weather, St. Albert Transit buses cannot always safely access all bus stops in all neighbourhoods. Severe weather detours are initiated to reduce the chances of buses operating on unsafe or unstable roadways.
During incidents of severe snowfall or freezing rain, buses may not serve stops identified with Snow Detour signage. When severe weather detours are declared by St. Albert Transit, customers are requested to board at locations identified by Temporary Severe Weather Bus Stop signage.
There are five ways to check if your stop is affected by severe weather detours:
- Download the "transit app"
- Visit Google Transit
- Visit ridestat.ca
- Subscribe to StAT's eNotice
- Contact St. Albert Transit Customer Service at 780-418-6060
The following routes include stops with Severe Weather Detour signage. Please see the detailed route maps that identify bus stops that may be affected if a severe weather detour is declared and alternate stop locations:
