Bus Detours / Bus Stop Closures
Severe Weather Update - Feb. 27, 2024
All St. Albert Transit routes are currently operating but due compromised road conditions, bus travel times have been impacted and delays can be expected.
Due to the large snow accumulations, buses may not be able to pull fully to the curb.
All severe weather detours have been cancelled as bus stops are now accessible.
Route 201 Detour
Please be advised that due to area construction, Route 201 will operate on a detour route effective Monday, February 26, until further notice. Route 201 will travel westbound on Jasper Avenue to 109 Street and northbound on 109 Street. Route 201 will be unable to service bus stops on 105 Street and 104 Avenue westbound. Please see the detour map to view the closed and alternate bus stops.
Severe Weather Detours
During instances of severe weather, St. Albert Transit buses cannot always safely access all bus stops in all neighbourhoods. Severe weather detours are initiated to reduce the chances of buses operating on unsafe or unstable roadways.
During incidents of severe snowfall or freezing rain, buses may not serve stops identified with Snow Detour signage. When severe weather detours are declared by St. Albert Transit, customers are requested to board at locations identified by Temporary Severe Weather Bus Stop signage.
There are five ways to check if your stop is affected by severe weather detours:
- Download the "transit app"
- Visit Google Transit
- Visit ridestat.ca
- Subscribe to StAT's eNotice
- Contact St. Albert Transit Customer Service at 780-418-6060
The following routes include stops with Severe Weather Detour signage. Please see the detailed route maps that identify bus stops that may be affected if a severe weather detour is declared and alternate stop locations:
