Frequently Asked Questions
We have completed our event. Is there a reporting requirement?
The Grant Reporting (Events) form must be completed and submitted to the City of St. Albert within 90 days of event completion.
The report must include:
- Completed grant summary (form will be provided);
- Completed final budget; and
- Copies of receipts for expenses incurred directly related to the event.
Our event is only open to our members, or we charge an admission fee for people to attend our event. Are we eligible for funding?
Events that appeal to a very narrow portion of the population are less likely to be funded. Events that charge an admission fee for the public to attend are less likely to be funded but will be considered if only a nominal admission fee is being charged.
Our expense total is $1000, with no other source of revenue. Should we apply for the entire amount under the Community Events Grant?
The intent of the grant is to enhance or augment other funding sources. Indicate other sources of funding (grants, organization dollars) to show that you are not dependent on a single funding source for your budget.
Our organization already receives a Community Events Grant through the “Recurring” category. Can we apply for an additional event?
Yes. You can apply for funding support for more than one event each year, but each event/funding request must be submitted separately.
Generally, what types of events are not funded?
The following types of events will not be considered for funding; regular training, invitational competitions, political events, religious events, activities that charge more than a nominal admission fee.

Consideration is given to events of broad interest and anticipated participation by residents of St. Albert. Additional consideration is given to contribution by the organization (volunteer and fundraising).
