The percentage of adults in St. Albert remained nearly the same from 2016 to 2018. The percentage of mature adults in St. Albert remained almost the same in 2018. The percentage of school-age children in St. Albert has dropped over the last 20 years but seems to exhibit relative stability since 2012. The percentage of seniors in St. Albert increased as younger residents aged into the senior cohort and surpassed young adults for the first time in 2018. The percentage of toddler-aged children has decreased overall in the last 20 years but seems to have stabilized since 2012. The percentage of young adults in St. Albert has slowly decreased over the last 20 years, being surpassed by the percentage of seniors in the City for the first time in 2018.

St. Albert's average annual growth rate has remained stable between 2016 and 2018, with the population growing by 1.1 percent per year. St. Albert gained 1,437 residents over the two years, with the total population rising to 66,082.
Crime Severity Index
The crime severity index is calculated by Statistics Canada, and measures changes in the level of severity of crime in St. Albert from year to year. All crimes have been split between violent and non-violent crimes. More serious crimes are assigned higher weights, less serious offences lower weights. As a result, more serious offences have a greater impact on changes in the index. This represents the year-over-year (current year over last year) percentage change.

Overall Crime severity has decreased slightly in 2018 from 2017 (down 7.6%). St. Albert's Violent and Non-Violent CSI values also decreased (down 17.7% and 5.19%). St. Albert's CSI values decreased despite the fact that the Alberta average stayed relatively the same and Nationally saw a slight increase (1.9%).
