Information Session - Urban Beekeeping
Saturday, May 13, 2017
2:00pm - 5:00pm
TD Clean and Green RiverFest - Behind St. Albert Centre along Sturgeon River
The City of St. Albert is researching the types of policies, guidelines and bylaws needed to regulate beekeeping within the city. The intent of the bylaw is to determine the scale and size of hives and bee houses, and to create a safe habitat for bees as well as for humans.
Recommendations from Administration will be based on research of other municipalities, Provincial Acts and regulations, public consultation, consultation with authorities in beekeeping, and the provincial apiculturist.
