
Special Ballots
Note changes due to the Canada Post strike:
- It is not recommended that Special Ballot Packages be mailed to voters at this time. It is recommended that voters pick up Special Ballot Packages when they are contacted by the Election Office.
- Election Office: St. Albert Inn & Suites (Oakmont Room), 156 St. Albert Trail.
- Open Monday to Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
- Voters can drop off completed Special Ballot Packages at:
- Election Office, St. Albert Inn (Oakmont Room), 156 St. Albert Trail or
- with the Returning Officer at 3rd Floor, 5 St. Anne Street, St. Albert, AB, T8N 3Z9.
- Open Monday to Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m..
A special ballot is available for eligible voters who are registered and listed on the Permanent Electors Register and unable to vote during Advance Voting or on Election Day.
An eligible voter must submit a request to the Returning Officer for a special ballot. Requests for special ballots can only be submitted from Friday, August 1, 2025, to 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday, October 14, 2025.
Important Dates for Special Ballots

How to Request a Special Ballot
Eligible voters requesting a special ballot are required to make the request using the Request for Special Ballot Package (Form 22). The request cannot be made by another individual on the eligible voter’s behalf.
You can submit Form 22 using one of the following methods:
- Online Application Form
- Email
- Download Form 22
- Send the completed Form 22 with a copy of required identification* to:
election@stalbert.ca
- Phone
- Complete Form 22 over the phone with an election team member by calling: 780-418-6663
- You will also need to email a copy of required identification* to: election@stalbert.ca
- In Person
- Download Form 22
- Drop off the completed Form 22 and a copy of required identification* at:
Election Office, St. Albert Inn & Suites (Oakmont Room), 156 St. Albert Trail. (Monday to Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.). The Election Office will contact you when the Special Ballot Packages are ready for pick up.

Submit Your Completed Special Ballot
Special ballot packages will be issued to eligible applicants after Nomination Day (September 22, 2025). Step-by-step instructions will be included in the special ballot package.
- Voters can drop off completed Special Ballot Packages at the Election Office at the St. Albert Inn & Suites (Oakmont Room), 156 St. Albert Trail or with the Returning Officer at 3rd Floor, 5 St. Anne Street, St. Albert, AB, T8N 0P5.
Eligible voters must submit the completed special ballot package to the Returning Officer no later than 7:00 p.m. on Monday, October 20, 2025 (Election Day).
Please Note: Any special ballot packages that are incorrect or incomplete, or received after 7:00 p.m. on Monday, October 20, 2025, will not be accepted or counted.
