ID Requirements

You are eligible to vote if you are: At least 18 years of age, a Canadian citizen your place of residence is located in the City of St. Albert on Election Day, October 20, 2025.

All Voters may be required to complete a statement of elector eligibilty that they are eligible to vote.

There are two scenarios that will determine what ID you need in order to vote:

  1. Registered voters are required to show valid government issued identification containing, at minimum, the voter's photograph and name.
  2. Non-Registered voters are required to validate their ID by providing one of the following:
    • One piece of Government issued identification containing the voter's photograph, name and current address; or
    • One piece of identification containing the voter's name and current address.
    • Those unable to produce identification set out above may have a registered voter vouch for them.

Attestation of Identity and Address Form

If you are unable to provide an accepted form of ID, an authorized individual may complete an attestation form to confirm your identity and place of residence.

To use an attestation form as identification:

  • Print the attestation form.
  • Complete Section 1 of the form, which includes name, address and signature fields.
  • Ask an authorized individual to complete Section 2 of the form.
  • Bring the completed form to the voting station and present it to the election worker.

An attestation form should be completed before visiting the voting station, unless the person providing the attestation is coming with you.
