2024 Budget

At the December 19, 2023, Council meeting, the 2024-26 Financial Plan and 2024 Budget was approved, following the budget deliberation process. This includes the 2024 municipal and utility operating and capital budgets.

The City’s 2024 budget focuses on maintaining the valued services and service levels residents expect and enjoy, while also enhancing other programs and services that meet new needs of our growing community. This budget supports investing in technologies and building capacity in key service areas. It also responds to community growth and investing in the future to support and enable non-residential development and ensure connectivity throughout the city, including growth areas. While also continuing to support Council’s priorities such as advancing Economic Prosperity with a focus on the Lakeview Business District.

The 2024 Budget includes an average property tax increase of $226 per year ($18.83 per month) or 5.5%, for an average house valued at $500,000, and an average utility rate increase of $12.30 per month or 8.5 per cent increase on the utility rate compared to last year.
