The proposed 2026-28 Financial Plan and 2026 Budget were presented to Council on November 4, 2025, including the 2026 municipal and utility operating and capital budgets.

The proposed 2026 budget continues to focus on maintaining high standards for the delivery of programs and services to residents, businesses and community stakeholders while setting conditions for future growth, community well-being and economic prosperity.

This year’s financial plan includes:

  • Maintaining high services and service levels. 
  • Stimulating economic growth by creating more employment and business opportunities for residents.
  • Balancing increased costs and required investments for a sustainable future.

The proposed 2026 budget includes an average property tax increase of 3.9 per cent. Residents will see an average of $890 per $100,000 in assessed value on their property tax bill, an increase of about $29 from 2025.

The average utility rate increase of 7.9 per cent yields an average increase of $12.98 per month compared to last year.
