How Will Census Data Be Used?
Census information is important for the City and Council to inform decision-making to optimize existing programs and services such as transportation, schools, utilities, emergency services and recreational facilities and planning for new ones to meet our diverse community needs. The accurate population count also helps the City receive grants from different levels of government.
Identifying trends such as population growth or decline, changes in demographics, and shifts in housing patterns allows the City and outside organizations to plan for the changing needs in our growing and diverse community.
