Your 2025 Property Assessment and Taxation Notice

Below you will find key information about important dates, payment options, tax amounts, where to find more information and how to get in touch with the City to learn more.
Dates and Deadlines
- 2025 Combined Assessment and Taxation Notices will be mailed to residents on May 16, 2025
- Property Tax due June 30, 2025
- Property Assessment Review Period/Appeal Deadline – July 25, 2025
Payment Options
- Online Credit Card Payments
You can use your credit card to pay through our Online Payments portal (fees apply). The required tax roll number and access code are available from your current tax notice. - Pre-Authorized Payment Plan
The Pre-Authorized Tax (PAT) Payment Plan allows for the payment of property taxes in 12 monthly instalments from January to December. - Financial Institution
City of St. Albert Property Tax payments are accepted at most financial institutions via in-branch banking and ATM. Allow at least three business days for processing. - In-Person
Main floor at St. Albert Place (5 St. Anne Street: Monday to Friday during regular business hours 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.)
If paying in person by debit or credit card, please ensure the daily limit on your card allows for the transaction amount. - Drop Box at St. Albert Place (5 St. Anne Street)
Outside of normal business hours, you can drop off your payment through the mail slot located on the right-hand side of the front doors at St. Albert Place. Cheques only please (do not deposit cash). - By Mail (5 St. Anne Street, St. Albert AB T8N 3Z9)
Cheques should be made payable to the City of St. Albert. Receipt for payment of taxes provided upon request only. Must be postmarked on or before the due date. - By Telephone or Internet Banking
Create a new 'payee' by searching 'City of St. Albert' Taxes. Your tax roll number from your current tax notice is your account number. Allow at least three business days for processing.

How Much Will Taxes Increase?
- Sample Residential Property
An overall increase of 3.9 per cent will be seen in the total tax requirement for a typical residential property. - Sample Non-Residential Property
A typical commercial or industrial property will see an increase of 4.2 per cent overall increase in taxes.

Online Assessment and Taxation Records
On May 6, 2025, City Council passed the 2025 Tax Rate Bylaw. The Municipal Government Act requires the City to annually adopt a Tax Rate Bylaw. This bylaw is expected to generate a combined $142,017,500 in municipal tax revenue and provides funding for the City’s programs and service levels, as approved in the 2025 Municipal Operating Budget.

The Taxation and Assessment team are available by phone or email from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday to Friday. When speaking with an assessor or tax representative, you may be asked to provide additional information to verify ownership of the property if the title transfer has not been completed by Alberta Land Titles.
