About the Project

Element Park, St. Albert’s newest and in-progress green spaces, will be in Erin Ridge North. One of the park’s distinctive features will be a bouldering wall and it is this structure that will serve as the canvas for Red Knot Studio’s integrated mosaic tile artwork.

The public art will be seamlessly embedded into the backside of the climbing wall, created in collaboration with the City’s project team and contractors. In Fall, 2025, the artists will engage with the St. Albert community so that they have a strong understanding of the people, community and space that they are designing for. After they have a design in mind, the artists will begin building the mosaic tiles at their home studio to prepare for the artwork’s installation by late Summer, 2026.

This initiative is part of St. Albert’s ongoing commitment to bringing meaningful, accessible art into everyday public spaces. The project aims to not only enhance the visual landscape of Erin Ridge North, but also to make Element Park a cultural and recreational destination for both residents and visitors for years to come.

The City of St. Albert congratulates Red Knot Studio and looks forward to unveiling this exciting new addition to our Public Art Collection.
