Election 2021: Are You an Aspiring Candidate?
Are you interested in running in the 2021 St. Albert Election as a candidate? The next St. Albert Election will be held on Monday, October 18, 2021. On this day, voters will cast their ballots to elect:
- One Mayor
- Six Councillors

NEW Nomination Period
For the 2021 Election, the nomination period will begin on January 1, 2021. Nomination papers may be submitted by using the secure drop box beside the front entry doors of St. Albert Place, or by mail/courier to the City of St. Albert. To submit your papers via mail/courier, please send them to the following mailing address:

Updated Local Authorities Election Act
The Local Authorities Election Act (LAEA) governs municipal and school division elections in Alberta. In 2020, the LAEA was updated and amendments were made relating to the following:
- Nomination Period
- Contributions to Campaigns
- Third Party Advertising
Candidates and third-party advertisers are responsible to ensure their compliance with the legislation.
