Your Guide to the 2025 Municipal Election

The 2025 St. Albert Municipal Election is on Monday, October 20, 2025. Advance voting will take place from Tuesday, October 14 to Saturday, October 18, 2025.

St. Albert residents are electing six councillors, one mayor and five Public School Board Trustees and five Catholic School Board Trustees.

Who Can Vote

Eligible voters are at least 18 years of age, a Canadian citizen and their place of residence is located in the City of St. Albert on Election Day (October 20, 2025). 

Did You Register To Vote?

Under new provincial legislation, voters must be listed on the Permanent Electors Register. If you did not register in advance, you can register at a voting station.

Vote at any listed voting station! Choose the location and time that works for you!

Voter ID Requirements 

All voters must show valid identification before voting. Most voters will be required to show ID containing their photo, name and current address. Please be prepared. For a complete list of acceptable IDs that show your name, address and photo, please view ID Requirements

Election Ballots

This year, ballots are colour-coded for each race and are much larger. Ballots were designed with ballot counters in mind to ensure accurate, efficient and transparent counting.

Election Results

Ballots will be manually counted, and official results will be announced on stalbert.ca by Friday, October 24, 2025.

Vote By Mail

Request a Special Ballot by 4:30 p.m. on October 14, 2025. Deadline to return is 7 p.m. on October 20, 2025. Due to the Canada Post Strike, it is recommended that Special Ballot Packages be picked up and submitted by voters in-person.
