Bringing Canada Day to You!
July 1 is going to look a lot different than in previous years, but we promise there’ll be just as much creativity, pride and spirit! While we’ll miss having everyone join us at Riel Recreation Park for fun and adventure, we’re excited to offer a virtual approach to this year’s Canada Day festival. We’ve teamed up with other municipalities around the Edmonton Metropolitan Region to bring a shared celebration.
Join us online as we celebrate Canada Day as a community with family activities, musical performances and fun for all ages!
Watch musical performances by George Canyon, Dan Davidson, Nuela Charles, River Poets and Kym Simon from 6 to 8 p.m.
This fun, Canadian-themed booklet is filled with workshops, activities, crafts, colouring pages, recipes and more. Get it now to start planning your day!
Fill your home, campsite, backyard or wherever you’re celebrating with the musical talents of Canada’s greatest artists.
Celebrate in Simple Ways
Anyone can show their Canadian pride in these simple ways:
- Wear red.
- Hang Canadian flags in your windows or decorate your yards.
- Show your community how you celebrate on social media using the hashtags #CelebrateTogether and #T8NTogether.
The Federal Ministry of Canadian Heritage is also hosting its own Virtual Canada Day celebration featuring musical performances, activities and a streaming montage of past firework displays.
Please note that due to restrictions on mass gatherings, the Canada Day fireworks at Mission Hill are cancelled.
