Children’s Festival Tickets On Sale Now: Be Wonder Filled!
The International Children’s Festival of the Arts is celebrating 45 years this spring and is back in downtown St. Albert May 29 – June 1. Mountains of fun await you with this one-of-a-kind chance to take in world class theatre, curated specifically for young audiences. All the performances and activities on site have been hand selected to bring magic, circus, imagination and theatre to local children and youth, while also ensuring parents and caregivers will enjoy the weekend, too!
To plan your time, here’s everything you need to know!

Must-See Feature Performances
This year’s Festival will host seven feature performances, including 360 ALLSTARS, an Australian-born, high-energy urban circus extravaganza performed by a team of artists who push the boundaries of physicality to their absolute limit! It is a jaw-dropping fusion of BMX stunts, basketball wizardry, breakdancing brilliance, mesmerizing emcee-ing, mind-bending acrobatics and heart-pounding drumming that takes centre stage. The show features an all-star cast of world champions and record-holding athletes and delivers a spectacular blend of extraordinary artistry and vibrant street culture.

You also won’t want to miss Disney's Finding Nemo Jr., a St. Albert Children’s Theatre production that will have you bopping to songs like “Just Keep Swimming”, “Fish Are Friends, Not Food” and “Go with the Flow”! This performance is a 60-minute musical adaptation of the beloved 2003 Pixar movie, Finding Nemo. Marlin, an anxious and over-protective clownfish, lives in the Great Barrier Reef with his kid, Nemo, who longs to explore the world beyond their anemone home. When Nemo is captured and taken to Sydney, Marlin faces his fears and sets off on an epic adventure across the ocean.

Don’t stop there! Keep the fun going with Goupil et Kosmao (where a great magician is ready to wow the crowd with his assistant, Goupil, but things aren’t always as they seem, and chaos abounds!) Koo Koo (a party for your senses and back by popular demand!), Fizzlewit and The Magic Colours (now an interactive, feature performance by our favourite, yet unusual hero), Yuki the Juggler - All the Way from Japan (a high-energy, interactive juggling show that blends traditional Japanese artistry with modern juggling skills), and the incomparable Missy D (the one and only femcee herself!).

Ticketed Activities
You'll find no shortage of things to see and do before or after taking in a Feature Performance. New this year, One- and Two-Feature Performance Passes come with an all-inclusive activity wristband, granting you access to all the Ticketed Activities on-site, all weekend long (single Feature Performance and Ticketed Activity tickets are available on weekdays, too)! Bust a move as you learn to break dance with B Boy Pharush, get swept away by the rhythm of the drums with Hands That Speak, learn the secrets of magic from real magician Ron Pearson, make Korean art with Hanji Art or get crafty at the Open Arts Studio, learn some skills with a circus superstar, write a song, get in touch with fibre artwork, solve historic mysteries, enjoy the mini metropolis of Toddler Town, or Make Your Mark with Anna Muskego!

Evening Performances on the Weekend!
This year, guests will have the chance to catch two evening performances at the Children’s Festival! Can’t make a daytime show? Want to see it again? We've got you you covered with Festival After Hours
- Friday, May 30 at 8 p.m. Koo Koo at Endeavour Brewing (18+)
Whether you were there in 2022 or only heard about how legendary of a night it was, Koo Koo is back at it again, presenting a show just for the grown-ups! If you're a teacher looking to let loose or a parent amped for a night on the town sans-kids, make sure to secure your spot to the wildest night of Children’s Festival, with Koo Koo After Hours!
Join lifelong friends and collaborators Bryan and Neil as they bring their high-energy performance to the pub for an evening interactive performance and a seriously fun time. Join Koo Koo and opener, Spandy Andy at the Festival, but this time, it’s just for the big kids. - Saturday, May 31 at 7p.m 360 ALLSTARS at The Arden Theatre
If you miss them during their daytime performances, the Australian multi-disciplinary circus troupe is back for a night of heart-stopping excitement at The Arden Theatre. The lobby bar will be open for a more grown-up festival experience, but of course all ages are welcome. Catch dinner first and then head on over for a night out among friends.
