Make a difference: Service on a Civic Agency, Board or Committee

Civic Intake 2025

The City of St. Albert invites residents to serve on a Civic Agency Board or Committee to provide guidance to City Council and assist in civic operations. As a volunteer, this is a great opportunity to learn more about municipal government processes, gain more leadership experience and become more involved in the community. Make a difference! St. Albert residents with a passion to serve the community are encouraged to apply.

The City of St. Albert is accepting applications for the following Civic Agencies:


Arts Development Advisory Committee (ADAC)

  • Meeting Frequency: 4th Wednesday of each month 6:00 p.m.
    *Subject to change
  • Term Length: Up to 2 years
  • Vacancies: Up to 6

Assessment Review Board (ARB)

  • Meeting Frequency: Fall 2025
    (meetings are contingent on need and may not be held)
  • Term Length: Up to 4 years
  • Vacancies: Up to 5

Community Services Advisory Committee (CSAC)

  • Meeting Frequency: 4th Tuesday of each month 6:30 p.m.
    *Subject to change
  • Term Length: Up to 3 years
  • Vacancies: Up to 3
    (may include up to 2 youth members aged 16-24 at the time of appointment)

Environmental Advisory Committee (EAC)

  • Meeting Frequency: 4th Thursday of each month 6:00 p.m.
    *Subject to change
  • Term Length: 2 years
  • Vacancies: 2

Internal Audit Steering Committee (IASC)

  • Meeting Frequency: As required Daytime
  • Term Length: Up to 2 years
  • Vacancies: 1

Library Board (LB)

  • Meeting Frequency: 3rd Wednesday of each month 7:00 p.m.
    *Subject to change
  • Term Length: 3 years
  • Vacancies: 4
    (may include 1 youth member aged 18-24 at the time of appointment)

Policing Committee (PC)

  • Meeting Frequency: 2nd Tuesday of each month 6:30 p.m.
    *Subject to change
  • Term Length: Up to 3 years
  • Vacancies: 2

Seniors’ Advisory Committee (SAC)

  • Meeting Frequency: 3 times per year
  • Term Length: Up to 2 years
  • Vacancies: Up to 3
    (aged 55+ as of Sept 1/24)

Subdivision and Development Appeal Board (SDAB)

  • Meeting Frequency: Wednesdays (bi-weekly) 6:00 p.m.
    *Subject to change
  • Term Length: 2 years
  • Vacancies: 3

Youth Advisory Committee (YAC)

  • Meeting Frequency: 1st Wednesday of each month 6:30 p.m.
    *Subject to change
  • Term Length: Up to 2 years
  • Vacancies: Up to 5
    (aged 14-24 as of Sept 1/24)
