Family Day Weekend 2018

Family Day weekend is a welcome opportunity to soak in more quality time with our family and friends during the winter season! With the long weekend, some people choose a getaway to a new place and others stay close to home and explore their local landscape.

For those of you planning to stick close to home this coming weekend, here are some of the events happening in St. Albert:

Is folk music your thing? Iris DeMent will be taking over The Arden Theatre on Friday, February 16 at 7:30 p.m. Tickets on sale now.

“Grounded in hymns, early country songs, gospel and folk, DeMent's work is treasured by those who know it for its insight and unabashed beauty.”  -NPR

For little kids and big kids at heart, The Arden Theatre has just the performance for you! Morton the Magician in: Ta Da! is taking place on Saturday, February 17 starting at 2 p.m. Tickets on sale now.

Bring your family to the Fire and Ice Festival hosted by the St. Albert Firefighters Local 2130. Enjoy a day filled with skating, fire trucks, an obstacle course, petting zoo, crafts and so much more! Free admission. Donations to Muscular Dystrophy.

Servus Credit Union Place will be open on Family Day from 6:30 a.m.  to 9:30 p.m. This is a great time to check out our drop-in family activities! Play some basketball on Court #1, enjoy the Family Public Skate from 11:15 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. at the Go Auto Arena, play some pickleball from 4 to 6 p.m. and end the day with badminton. Don’t forget to take a dip in the Landrex Water Play Centre, which will be open from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. and includes a hot tub, lazy swimming, leisure pool, sauna and steam room. Please note: There are no drop-in or registered fitness programs or childminding services scheduled on this day.
