Foodies Gather to “Dig-In”!

In April, the City of St. Albert, in partnership with Hole’s Greenhouse & Gardens, hosted the fourth annual Dig In! Horticulinary Festival, proudly presented by Averton. The festival took place at the Enjoy Centre in St. Albert and through interactive programs and activities, showed participants the value of sourcing local products, growing their own foods, and celebrating the food and horticulture of the St. Albert region.

The new festival format offers participants the opportunity to celebrate twice, once in the Spring and then again in the Fall, and includes new options for brunches and a dinner hosted by TV Celebrity Chefs Corbin Tomaszeski and Desiree Nielsen. The fan fare attracted a total of 2,405 attendees who participated in a variety of gardening and cooking presentations hosted by the celebrity chefs, as well as a spring-to-harvest container workshop.

The one-time, multi-course meals prepared by the celebrity chefs had mouths watering! They included flavourful, fresh and locally sourced products that left the 187 participants inspired to get creative in their own kitchens.

Stay tuned for details on the Fall installment of Dig-In September 19-23!
