Grosvenor Outdoor Pool 50th Anniversary
In 1967, the very first outdoor aquatic facility was built in St. Albert as part of the Canadian Centennial Celebration. Now in its 50th year, Grosvenor Outdoor Pool is still a very popular place for families to enjoy poolside fun and beat the summer heat.
You could feel the excitement in the air at the 50th year pool party on August 8. Approximately 300 admissions were sold to eager visitors ready to take in a splish-splashing good time and enjoy a refreshing swim on a hot day. From 1 to 9 p.m., attendees were treated to admission of $1.50 in celebration of Canada 150, face painting, water games and delicious treats!
This outdoor facility hosts a long leisure pool and deep diving tank for those wanting to stay active in the summer while keeping cool. It’s a great place to get fit and play; you can spend the day relaxing on the pool deck, and enjoy snacks and beverages from the Splash Pad Café.
The fun isn’t just for humans! An event is set for our furry friends and takes place in September. The Annual Grosvenor Dog Swim presented by Adrian Michelutti of RE/MAX Professionals – St. Albert will be happening on September 4 from 6 to 8 p.m. Not only is this event fun for dogs, admission is a donation (monetary or pet item) to help support SCARS (Second Chance Animal Rescue Society).
Don’t forget to mark your calendar for this memorable event!
