Councillor Jacquie Hansen: Deputy Mayor September – October 2020

Councillor Jacquie Hansen is in her first term as City Councillor. She and her family moved to St. Albert from Vancouver 24 years ago. With four active children (now grown) she has volunteered in many capacities over the years around St. Albert, and is a proud  St. Albert Rotarian. Her favourite time is spent with her family, grandchildren and fishing for trout off the grid.

Jacquie’s board service includes four terms as a school board trustee with Greater St. Albert Catholic Schools, which eventually led to being elected president of the Alberta School Boards Association. She has served on the Children & Family Services Authority Board, the Sturgeon Hospital Foundation and St. Albert Economic Development Advisory Board. 

Prior to becoming a Councillor, she spent two years as Executive Director of the Alberta School Councils’ Association. She has a Bachelor of Physical Education with an English minor from UBC. 

Currently, Jacquie is Chair of the Inter City Forum on Social Policy, Vice President of the North Saskatchewan Watershed Alliance, Vice Chair of the Sturgeon River Watershed Alliance, member of the AUMA Sustainability and Environment Committee, Library Board member and member of the St. Albert COVID-19 Recovery Task Force.
