Last Chance to Have Your Say

The City of St. Albert is looking to community members for ideas on ways to generate more revenue. Finding new sources of revenue will reduce the need for future tax increases to maintain City programs and service levels. Through its public participation opportunity, Planning Forward: Setting the Context, the City hopes to tap into the creativity and innovative thinking of residents and businesses to gather suggestions on new sources of revenue to consider.

“The City has worked hard at reducing costs, finding efficiencies and maximizing the use of tax dollars,” says Cindy de Bruijn, Senior Manager of Community Relations. “Faced with reductions in grant funding and other economic pressures, the City is left with few alternatives in terms of generating revenue. We are reluctant to rely solely on tax increases, fines and user fees to address the revenue shortfall so we are partnering with the community to crowdsource ideas for new sources of revenue the City can consider.”

The City is holding one final online presentation and input session:

  • Thursday, August 5 at 7 p.m. Registration is required.

If you are not able to join the facilitated virtual session, you can submit your feedback online via the Cultivate the Conversation platform. The last day to provide your feedback is August 31, 2021.
