A New Year’s Resolution that can Save Your Life!
New Year’s Resolutions need to mean something. They need to have a purpose, give focus, and help you work towards a bigger goal. If your New Year’s Resolution has already fizzled out, or if you’re looking for something more meaningful – this New Year’s Resolution can literally save your life!
Emergency Preparedness is something we all know we should do. We know it’s important. We’ve seen the fires, tornados and train derailments on the news, but time has a habit of getting away on all of us…until now.
Each month, the City of St. Albert will break down Emergency Preparedness into bite-sized chunks. You’ll receive tips and get access to resources to help better prepare you and your family.
Over the course of the year, you’ll learn how to:
- Build or update a 72-hour Basic Emergency Kit
- Put together a First Aid & Medical Supplies Kit
- Prepare a Vehicle Emergency Kit
- Create a Pet Emergency Kit
- Build a Grab & Go Kit
You’ll even have the opportunity to work with the City’s Emergency Management Coordinator and build an Emergency Plan for you and your family! Interested? Register for the FREE May 7 Workshop at the St. Albert Library today. Email Colleen Lamble (firstname.lastname@example.org) for more information.
To get you started, download the City of St. Albert’s Emergency Preparedness Guide. The guide includes sections on understanding risks, making a plan, preparing a kit, and knowing what to do before, during and after an emergency.
Let us help you keep your New Year’s Resolution. Visit stalbert.ca/beprepared each month, watch for information in Citylights (Saturdays in the St. Albert Gazette), like the City of St. Albert Facebook page or follow the City on Twitter.
