Soak Up the Summer with Outdoor Aquatics

Summertime means sunshine, and what better way to enjoy the sun than splashing around St. Albert’s outdoor water features! Pack your sunscreen and check out some options for fun in the sun this summer right in our community.

Woodlands Water Play Park presented by RE/MAX

Woodlands Water Play Park has been a family favourite in St. Albert for 27 years and recently opened for summer on May 21.. Located at 165 Sturgeon Road, this exciting water play park has a variety of splash features including over 20 medieval-themed sprayers, a super splash bucket that holds and releases 50 gallons of water, and a multi-age playground with a variety of equipment! Sectioned into age-appropriate areas, Woodlands Water Play Park is toddler-friendly and perfect for the whole family.

Visitors will love the park’s accessible, non-slip surface, on-site washrooms and plenty of shaded and sunny areas to enjoy snacks from the Splash Deck Café! And for those with a little extra energy to burn, there is also an on-site playground to explore.

Gates open daily from 9:45 a.m. to 8:15 p.m. and admission is no-cost.

Grosvenor Outdoor Pool

As St. Albert’s first ever swimming pool, Grosvenor Outdoor Pool brings back memories for residents dating back to 1967. The pool opened for summer on May 28, and is located at 1 Grenfell Ave, tucked away in the quiet residential area of Grandin. Patrons can cool off in the large leisure pool, make a splash in the deep-diving tank or lounge on the deck with a snack or beverage from the Splash Deck Café.

Versailles Park

And finally, the newest addition to the summer splash line-up is at Versailles Park! This fire station-themed park space located at 10MR Villemagne Road in Ville Giroux opened in November of 2021 and features St. Albert’s first small-scale, non-recirculating splash pad.

Intended for younger children, the splash pad contains no spray elements, instead using a stream, a wheelchair accessible water table and bubblers. A concrete surface allows all users to enjoy the splash pad without barriers to movement and makes it easy to soak up the sun while staying cool.

Versailles Park is complete with a playground containing two main play structures, a four-bay swing set, and multiple small play features. Limited street parking is available, residents are encouraged to use other methods of active transportation.

The water feature is available from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. using an on-demand system where users turn on the water with the push of a button.
