Police and Peace Officers’ Memorial Day
Blue and red lights flash as help approaches, answering the call day or night.
St. Albert RCMP and Municipal Enforcement Services work together, enforcing laws and ensuring all residents have a safe community to call their own.
“The St. Albert RCMP and Municipal Enforcement team are part of this community, working everyday behind the scenes to ensure anyone who comes to St. Albert can feel safe and that help will be there when needed,” says Aaron Geisbrecht, Acting Director of Emergency Services. “We have unfortunately experienced loss in St. Albert and there is nothing that takes that pain away when you lose a colleague.”
September 28, 2025 – Police and Peace Officers’ Memorial Day
Each year, on the last Sunday in September, Canada recognizes Police and Peace Officers’ Memorial Day. It is an opportunity for the country to honour police and peace officers who have fallen in the line of duty, and also recognizes families, friends and colleagues who have suffered the devastating loss of a loved one.

Not all crimes can be prevented, but residents can also do their part by playing an active role in keeping themselves and their families safe.
- Join the #9PMRoutine and complete some simple steps such as:
- Removing valuables from your vehicle and ensuring it’s locked, windows are closed, and if possible, your vehicle’s parked in a garage.
- Keep your vehicle registration and insurance documents secure. The documents can be used to commit other crimes.
- Close all garage windows and lock any garage doors, especially those leading into your house.
