RCMP - Investigate Hit and Run Collision - UPDATED

The St. Albert RCMP advise that the suspect in this case has identified themselves and attended the St. Albert Detachment. The suspect has been release with charges pending. We thank the public and media for their assistance in this case.
The suspect cannot be identified until the charges are sworn before the courts.
Original Release - August 23, 2024
On Aug, 22, 2024, at 4:35 p.m., St. Albert RCMP received a report of hit and run collision. The victim’s vehicle was struck from behind by an aggressive suspect vehicle causing the victim to drive off the road. The victim’s vehicle then started on fire resulting in the total loss of the vehicle. The victim was not injured. The collision occurred on Villeneuve Road at the traffic circle adjacent to Walmart. The vehicle was last seen heading Westbound on Villeneuve road. RCMP have obtained a photo of the suspect vehicle and are asking for public assistance in both locating the vehicle and its owner.
The suspect vehicle is described as:
- 2015-2020 GMC Sierra quad cab pick up;
- Red or pink rims;
- Black headache rack;
- Metal push bar/ bumper on front;
- Damage to the passenger side.
Additionally, RCMP are asking residents to check their home and dash cameras for footage of this distinctive vehicle.
