RCMP - Investigate Sexual Exploitation Involving Teacher
On February 23, 2022, the St. Albert RCMP began a historical Sexual Exploitation investigation. RCMP received information that a minor had been sexually exploited by a teacher. An investigation was conducted by the St. Albert RCMP resulting in a 28 year old male, Bryce Hughes of Edmonton, being charged with the following offences:
- Sexual Exploitation
- Agree or arrange a sexual offence against a child
- Making sexually explicit material available to a child
- Making child pornography
- Possession of child pornography
Hughes has been released from police custody with conditions and is set to appear in court on April 25, 2022. As these matters are now before the courts, no further details surrounding these charges can be provided.
St. Albert Victim Services Unit has been engaged to assist and have reached out to the victim.
St. Albert RCMP believe there may be additional victims and encourage those individuals to come forward.
