RCMP - Issuing Shelter In Place - UPDATED
Updated Release - May 14, 2026
Update #2: St. Albert RCMP would like to provide context to the shelter in place which was issued on May 10, 2026. Edmonton Police Service (EPS) was investigating an armed carjacking in which the suspect stole a taxi. Later, that taxi was seen in St. Albert. EPS requested RCMP assistance and the area in which the suspect was last seen on foot was contained and thoroughly searched.
The suspect was not located, and it is believed he is no longer in the area.
We understand how situations such as this can make a community feel uneasy, but rest assured, your Alberta RCMP continues to work vigilantly to ensure the safety of everyone in our communities.

Update #1: St. Albert RCMP is lifting the shelter in place. The suspect was not located but is not believed to be in the area.

St. Albert RCMP is asking everyone in the Riverside neighborhood of St. Albert to shelter in place as officers are searching for a suspect involved in an armed robbery.
Please stay in your residences and do not open the door for anyone. Follow all directions from responding officer. Refrain from posting photos of responding officers on social media.
