RCMP - Crime Stoppers- Garage door openers targeted
Due to a recent increase in theft from motor vehicles where garage door openers have been stolen and garages and homes being entered and property stolen. The St. Albert RCMP are reminding the public to secure their valuables including garage openers.
Garage openers can be taken out of the vehicle and secured in the home if the vehicle is parked outside. Alternatively, it can be locked in a glove compartment. For any theft, removing the opportunity for it to occur is the best solution for prevention.
It's 9 p.m., have you:
- remove valuables and garage door opener from the vehicle?
- closed windows and overhead garage doors?
- lock house and vehicle doors?
