Canadian Award for Financial Reporting

The City of St. Albert has been awarded the Canadian Award for Financial Reporting by Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada for its 2019 Annual Report. This award recognizes excellence in governmental accounting and financial reporting and represents a significant accomplishment for our municipality and its management.  

The Canadian Award for Financial Reporting Program was established to encourage municipal governments throughout Canada to publish high-quality financial reports and to provide peer recognition and technical guidance for officials preparing these reports. The City’s 2019 Annual Report was judged by an impartial Canadian Review Committee to ensure it met the high standards of the program.  

St. Albert’s financial reports exceed generally accepted accounting standards and clearly communicate the municipal government’s financial picture. The City is proud to provide a transparent report that that is easily readable and efficiently organized. 

“It is an extraordinary achievement for our team to receive this award for 19 consecutive years. The City of St. Albert is committed to strong financial management and we are pleased to accept the Canadian Award for Financial Reporting,” said Diane McMordie, Director of Financial Services and Information Technology.
