City holding public hearings on May 6, 2025, for Bylaw 8/2025, Bylaw 9/2025 and Bylaw 10/2025

The City of St. Albert will be holding public hearings at the May 6, 2025, City Council Meeting on Bylaw 8/2025 – Riverside ASP Amendment, Bylaw 9/2025 – Land Use Bylaw Schedule A and Text Amendment, and Bylaw 10/2025 – Land Use Bylaw Schedule A Amendment.

Bylaw 8/2025, if passed, would amend the Riverside Area Structure Plan Bylaw 1/2012 by reconfiguring land uses, placing higher-density development closer to major transportation and transit corridors; reconfiguring Municipal Reserve land, transforming it into future programmable parks and enhancing resident access to open space; and improving connectivity by formalizing east/west roadway connections, enabling better movement within the community.

Bylaw 9/2025, if passed, would amend the Land Use Bylaw 18/2024, Schedule A, by redistricting multiple parcels of land in the Riverside neighbourhood to Small-Lot Residential (SSL), Laned-Lot Residential (LLR), Medium Density Residential (MDR), High Density Residential (HDR), and Public Park (PRK). Redistricting of land is needed to enable subdivisions for residential development.

Bylaw 10/2025, if passed, would amend the Land Use Bylaw 18/2024, Schedule A, by redistricting a single parcel of land from Medium Density Residential (MDR) to High Density Residential (HDR) to enable development of a proposed apartment complex.

Details of the above Bylaws may be obtained by emailing eschultz@stalbert.ca. A copy of the proposed bylaws may also be accessed on the City of St. Albert website, Public Hearings Events page https://stalbert.ca/events/calendar/public-hearings/ at the link to the May 6, 2025 Public Hearing.
