BACKGROUND

On the morning of Tuesday, August 5, 2025, network connections to several City of St. Albert offices and locations went offline. 

The issue led to system, phone and network outages at some City facilities.

Editor's Note: Updated August 7, 2025 at 10:15 a.m. to note:  Servus Credit Union Place is now taking credit card payments and the MyCity and Online Payments websites are once again available.

There has been no disruption to City 911 Services. 

These outages were caused by a disruption in the City's fibre optic network. Crews are working to complete the repair and to restore connections as soon as possible.   

The City apologizes for the system and network outages and will provide an update when systems are back online.
